The summer Tibetan Language Intensive Program workshop is conducted by Drepung Gomang School for the children of the Camp/ villages of Tibetan Mundgod Settlement during their summer Holiday. It is a project aimed at preserving Tibetan Literature, language and writing. The project has been ongoing since 1997 and has been continuing for 29 years. The program is conducted every annually during long summer break holidays and provides a month-long course on Tibetan Calligraphy, Grammer, Literature, History and basic religious studies and debating skill. An average number of students participated in the program has been estimated about 200 students every year. It is our goal and hope that Tibetan younger generation will become well educated and competent person, who can preserve our Tibetan language and writing in future which is identity of Tibetan.
